It takes a strong woman to be a “plus size” woman. She must know that she is beautiful despite what despite what some losers may tell her. She has to create her own style because most stores don’t carry stylish and beautiful clothes for her body. To know who you are and be confident about your appearance everyday takes a lot of fortitude. Most of the time you are rejected because of the societal norms saying the skinny and tall European look is the way to go. Well I’m here to support what society calls “plus sized” models and show them the respect they deserve.
This is my girlfriend, Ariana. She is considered “plus sized” similar to Iskra Lawrence and Ashley Graham. She is in shape, plays ball, can dress better than most women and isn’t considered overweight on an athletic scale. Neither are the professional “plus sized” models. I put that in quotes because I believe the next 6ft, 95 lbs models should be called minus sized models, while the ladies mentioned about should be the standard. I respect my girl even more after taking these pictures. There are people that she is close to that want to talk about her body size, but she was able to mentally break through that and take these pictures to show that there’s nothing wrong with being thick. The people that talk about her size are insecure because they are out of shape, while she isn’t. She just has a thick build.
To be a “plus size”woman in this world takes strength. A woman who probably at a younger age did not feel so great about herself in society; the world’s perception tending to frown upon her uniqueness and difference. Hopefully we can help that perception change with the projects that we do together as a couple, along with some of the other content I have to offer.
